Today was our last day in Berlin, and we got a pretty slow start. Benton, Ryan, Elizabeth, and Joe went to a new neighborhood to a donut shop Atelier Dough, where we got interviewed by some local German TV. Elizabeth gave them her email in case they end up using it (so we could see the clip), but so far we still haven’t received anything.
We then walked around the neighborhood with the donut shop, stopping into a few other places and wondering. Ryan then left to explore on his own(big desire to enter the church), and the remaining three of us ended up at Chelany-Neukölln Restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, Benton went back to work, and the others all met up at Tempelhofer Feld (a former airport which is now a public park). The park was huge, and didn’t provide much shade, but was neat to see. From the park, they wandered further east, eventually stopping at Greek food for dinner.
Joe and Shashank had dinner reservations at Rutz (3 ⭐ Michelin restaurant). There was a dish that was made from fermented moss that grows around the city, which was funny since there had been jokes made the day before when seeing some of the moss that it would be used at the fine dining restaurant.
Eventually, the entire group joined for drinks at Bloona (the cocktail bar Benton and Shashank had gone to the day before). The bartender was convinced Kira(27) was underaged and told us we would have to pay for the restroom before IDing her. Omar taught us bluff (a modified version of BS), and we stayed at the bar until around 11, when it was time to go back and get ready for our flight the next morning.
Overall, this was a pretty chill day, and it was nice to explore some of the other neighborhoods in the city.
