Travel to Copenhagen

Today was the day that the larger group dispersed. Elizabeth, Allan, Ryan, Shashank, Joe, and Benton had flights to Copenhagen, so we all (with the exception of Joe, who had a 6am flight) got up around 7:45am to take transit to the Berlin airport. The flight to Copenhagen was only about an hour, and by the time we landed and made our way to our hostel (Steel House Copenhagen), it was time to check into the room....

Run, Explore, Museum, Drinks

Despite being a bit sick, Benton decided to get up and go for a run with Shashank in the morning (see map in orange for route). The run circumvented the inner part of Copenhagen (~6.3 miles), and we managed to run through Kastellet (a fort that now functions as a public park). As we ran by some armed guards, we heard a loud metal click, and we were joking that if we got shot, it would end up giving the US an excuse to invade Greenland (we were musing how that would be a strange legacy to leave)....

Bike, Beer, Boat, Bar

Today was one of the most fully planned days of the trip. Benton took the day off from work to partake in the activities, which ended up feeling like the correct decision. We started by renting bikes from the hostel and then using the (super nice) Copenhagen bike infrastructure to bike to Andersen Bakery, another recommendation that Joe got from the Michelin chef. The pastries were good, and the weather was 10/10....

Last Day in Copenhagen

Our last day in Copenhagen was started by Shashank, who got up early to meet a friend from work at a café. Elizabeth was next up, and she went to walk around and explore. Joe and Ryan went to a café as well. Allan and Benton used the last of our 24 hour bike rental hours to do a lap around Frederiksberg Gardens, stopping for food and a coffee at Maude’s Salon on the way back to the hostel to drop off bikes....
