Our last day in Copenhagen was started by Shashank, who got up early to meet a friend from work at a café. Elizabeth was next up, and she went to walk around and explore. Joe and Ryan went to a café as well.
Allan and Benton used the last of our 24 hour bike rental hours to do a lap around Frederiksberg Gardens, stopping for food and a coffee at Maude’s Salon on the way back to the hostel to drop off bikes.
Next, we all met up at Tivoli Gardens. There was a free (granted we already paid to get in the gardens) whiskey tasting that we joined shortly after arriving. Despite the commentary being almost entirely in Danish, this was still entertaining since a lot of whiskey was served, and Allan got to try his first ever oysters. (Benton decided to bail on the tasting after 2 of 5 shots of whiskey to roam around).
Unfortunately, the weather turned during the whiskey tasting, and by the time it was time to come out from under the tent, it was cold and rainy. We decided to go into the Tivoli Food Hall for lunch, and by the time we finished with lunch, the weather had cleared up a bit.
Benton and Joe got licorice ice cream (which was actually pretty tasty), and then they headed back to the hostel (along with Allan) to do laundry. Shashank, Elizabeth, and Ryan went to Frederiksberg Centret to shop and also get ice cream (Elizabeth discovered that Ryan wasn’t really aware of linen clothing; he kept referring to things as jorts - linen shorts - and joggers -linen pants-).
After shopping, everyone ended up back at the hostel for a bit, where Benton and Joe were still waiting on their laundry to finish. Ryan went for a run, Benton finished his book, Allan napped, and the others had a beer in the hotel lobby.
Eventually, the laundry finished, so we went to get drinks and dinner. We ended up at Illum Rooftop for drinks, where we played more bluff, followed by cocktails at Balderdash (another recommendation from Joe’s dining experience).
At Balderdash, Elizabeth ordered a drink that came with an aroma spray, and the male waiter asked if she wanted to “try the spritz” after spraying it on top of her drink. Elizabeth said yes, to which the waiter said “open da mouth,” before spraying it in Elizabeth’s mouth. A few jokes were made, and Elizabeth did not get the waiter’s number, but she did order another one of the same drink. Our (female) server brought out this drink and did not offer to spritz Elizabeth with it.
At this time, it was getting a bit late, so our dinner options were a bit limited. We ended up getting huge burgers from Sporvejen (there were some interesting options like a curry burger, which came with a curry aioli sauce). Finally, we went back to the hostel to pack up and sleep.
