Benton get up and go to Spell Coffee to start the morning, with Ryan and Elizabeth joining shortly after. The coffee was really good, but the croissant Benton got was pretty dry.

Roger (who we left in Vienna), had been in Prague before meeting us in Vienna, and during that time, he had managed to leave his necklace in his Prague hostel. He asked us to go pick that up for him, and that is what we did after breakfast.

His hostel was Luma Terra Prague, which was conveniently located near National Museum (our next destination). We toured the museum for about an hour and a half, and overall it was a cool museum to see, but the information was super disorganized and hard to follow. (Benton rated this museum as one of his least favorite, since it felt hard to learn anything). For instance, there was a huge wall with a row of busts of important people from Czech history, and then nothing other than their name below the bust.

From there, everyone except Allan went to get burgers for lunch at The Street Burgers, Street food and Cocktails, Prague 1 (Allan split off to go back to the Airbnb and let Joe, his friend from college who now lives in DC, into the Airbnb). All 6 of us then met up with our guide for our beer tour. Roger had done a beer tour with the same guide, and he had given us his contact info on Whatsapp.

The beer “tour” ended up being more of a “hang out with a local while we bar hop,” which was a blast, but we ended up drinking more than expected. We went to 4 bars, had roughly a half liter of beer at each stop, plus a shot at the last bar, and again left our drinking event of the day definitely not sober. Some other fun highlights here:

  • Our tour guide was absolutely jacked, and it turned out that he was really into rock climbing. He gave us a recommendation for a gym to go to, which we did the next day.

  • Allan was entertained when we were talking about politics; apparently the previous president of Czechia was quite something (not in a good way).

  • The first bar we went to had super cheap (but tasty) beer, and the bartender was ruthlessly efficient with his pouring of beer. He poured, the beers overflowed, and he slammed them down one at a time on the serving area. As we picked up our beers, they spilled everywhere as we carried them outside to drink. Hilarious.

Once the beer tour was over, we went back to the Airbnb. Allan was the most drunk (he opted for an extra shot at the last bar), and his drunkenness, combined with the fact that he had an interview 10 minutes later, meant that he struggled greatly with unlocking the apartment. Allan’s interview was funny (everyone except Benton listened in; he had his own work meeting to join).

**Ultimately, Allan did not move forward with this company; however, it didn’t really sound like this was much of a prospect as far as job opportunities go. He is however passionate about making front end usable for the consumer. *

For dinner, we went to Kantýna; basically a barbeque type place where we point at meats/food and then get charged by the weight. We ended up each getting way more food than we needed, but overall we left nice and full.

Finally, we transited a bit further away from the city to Café Bar Pilotů, a cocktail bar recommended to us by our bartender from the night before. The interior was cool (lots of decor), and the drinks were also pretty interesting (Benton got a drink with cream cheese in it; it tasted like lemon gelato).

After the cocktails, Allan, and Joe took transit back to the Airbnb, while Ryan, Benton, Elizabeth and Shashank walked. We passed though the park behind the main train station, Riegrovy Sady, which was up on a hill and had really neat views at night.

That was it for this day.
