Overall Impressions

Vienna was weirdly dead, and didn’t really feel like somewhere we would want to revisit. However, the mixed transit was really cool (trams + buses + subway working together made it really easy to get around). Prague was super fun, and it was small enough that it was easy to get a sense of the city. The tram system was interesting in that there were modern trams, somewhat old trams, and really old trams all running on the same lines....

Lucky

A large amount of things have to come together to pull off some of these trips, and I’ve been pretty fortunate to have the ability to go on trips like this one. Having a remote job that pays well helps in a huge way, but also having others who are willing to join/be flexible/travel together also makes the trips significantly more fun and interesting. For me, a trip to Europe has become almost a yearly thing at this point, which is not something that I would have ever expected to be the case, but it’s been really fun to explore different cities, hang out with friends (both old and new), and break up the daily routine....

Bits From the Trip

Not in too much detail here (mainly to jog memory when reading back for future reference, but there were quite a few running jokes/themes from the second half of this trip). “Oh my god” (a Shashank addition to the lingo of the group; basically a way to lead into complaining about something; said with a drawn out vocal fry) Allan had some good quotes (“I feel like I… 🇵🇱”) “Elizabeth is an alcoholic” become a bit of a joke (she didn’t want to drink unless we were to have more than 3 🤡)...
